Irish radio presenter Ray Darcy does his version of the Black Keys’ “Lonely Boy dance”.
Inspired by this - I’m putting out a COMPETITION because
a) It’s been since Eurovision that I’ve run a competition and the world cup is still months away;
b) It will entertain me greatly;
and c) Dan Auberbach for president.

Guardian Music: Music bloggers wanted →
guardianmusic:
Are you an independent blogger writing about your local music scene?
If so, would you fancy helping out on a small web project?
We’d need you to post a few updates (at least four or five a week, more if you like) on to a new noticeboard, for a couple of weeks - specifically information…
Ignite Dublin: Speaker list for Ignite Dublin #8... →
ignitedublin:
Ignite Dublin #8 is planned for the evening of the 8 December 2011 in the Science Gallery. This is a draft speaker list, the speakers should all be regarded as TBC though we are sure enough will confirm to ensure the usual awesomeness.
Mark Congiusta is a user design expert and Ignite regular.
The Impossiblity of Not-Speeding
It’s funny driving on the motorway in The Belgiums. It’s virtually impossible to actually drive the required 120km/h.
On the right lane - the inner, slow - lane, are the mastodon trucks, who legally cannot go faster than 90.
On the left lane is hardly anyone going under 130/140.
Me, I’m zigzagging from the one to the other, desperately trying to go 127* and finding it...

My New Favourite Poem
All that is gold does not glitter,Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither,Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken,A light from the shadows shall spring;Renewed shall be blade that was broken,The crownless again shall be king.
J.R.R. Tolkien - The Fellowship of the Ring
Oh yes. Said mousey is now in mousey heaven.
Alas, my corrupted mind is still corrupted.
Also, there might be an invasion of raptors in Dublin *any* day now. Don’t say I did’t warn yiz.

A mouse, and my psychotic brain.
I have a bad habit of having the ability to scare the living shit out of myself. It’s pretty insane, totally absurd and extremely annoying. We have a mousey in the attic. It makes noise (duh). This is a problem.
Hearing noise at night makes my brain go apeshit. Nevermind burglars, it’s the made-up stuff that my grey mass produces that does it. So, there it is, tap tap, scratch...
Tara street station. Next available toilet...
After a busy day in the ABSOLUT Fringe office, and a show that left me dazzled, I found myself missing my train by exactly 30 seconds. So, as one does, I sat down in Tara Street station and grunted a little. With an hour to kill before the next train, and on my own, there really weren’t that many exiting options in my reach. The candy machine offered some solace. So did the boyfriend on the...

Random thing that I learned today:
In photographs of cameras, the camera’s face is usually facing towards the right. Like, nearly 8 out of 10 times.

It’s the weekend.
It’s the BANK HOLIDAY weekend.
It’s winter.
I should be at 2 many DJs right now.
Boppity beats make us happy.
Why did the hipster burn his mouth?
He ate his pizza before it was cool.

Hollerday wrap-up
We made it home safe and soundly. Here’s a small round up of our Scandinavian voyage…
4470 kilometres driven, with nearly 2000 of that before we had even reached our destination! 5 tanks of diesel for that.
4 different currencies used: euros, Danish and Swedish kroners, and pounds.
11 countries/nations crossed… Ireland, England, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Denmark,...
A serious lack of canoes but footbalgolf made up...
This morning we headed back to Søndervig where we checked out the annual Scandinavian sand sculpture festival, which this year had the old Rome as its theme. Whereas the actual place was rather small, the sand sculptures were pretty impressive and had an amazing amount of detail to them… We found Remus and Romelus being fed by the wolf, the seven hills of Rome, a huge acropolis and several...
Weird statues and childlike exploration.
Firstly, I do apologise for uploading all pictures one by one, silly iPad being not friendly with flash and odd Internet connection make it that way!
Today we travelled from Esbjerg, where we first checked out the local fleamarket… I got a few wee frames for my Peoples Photography exhibition, himself lured at several lighters and an accordion… After that, we went to meet the...
The bookie from Ballymun.
We finally hit the Danish border at around 2 pm today. From there we went into Tønder, where we get some really sugary Danish bread and got tourist informations. The road then brought us to the island of Rømø, where the winds were that strong that they swept the sand everywhere… A lot of Danish hipsters there, windsurfing, kitesurfing and buggyboarding… A lot of them! It seems a...
