We finally hit the Danish border at around 2 pm today. From there we went into Tønder, where we get some really sugary Danish bread and got tourist informations. The road then brought us to the island of Rømø, where the winds were that strong that they swept the sand everywhere… A lot of Danish hipsters there, windsurfing, kitesurfing and buggyboarding… A lot of them! It seems a VW combi is the vehicle of preference for hip scandinavian surfer dudes!

After Rømø, we made our way to Esbjerg, which is the fifth biggest city in Denmark. A pretty cool city altogether. Dinner in a nice restaurant brought us plaice, dab, salmon and shrimps, and was a true gourmet delight… Not cheap though, prices in this country are a tad mental.

We may have ventured into an Irish pub after that (as one does, and it also happened to be next door to our hotel). “Paddy go easy” would be an Irish pub as you would find one anywhere in Ireland…

The Kitshko - Haye fight was being shown in the pub, and off course bets were being taken. The barman came from Limerick, and the dude taking the bets happened to be from Ballymun. No better man for it!

So, we travelled 2000k to place a 30 krone bet with a fella from the Ballyer… Delightful.
